It's been almost a week since my last post.
Thanks for all your well wishes, we've since recovered and return to work and school. Just as I thought things will be smooth sailing from here, my little botak was down with fever last night...sigh...I’ve given him panadol and am monitoring his temperature...hopefully his fever would subside by this evening, else I’ll have to make a trip to the PD again...
Damien is turning five this Saturday, how time flies! He is showing signs of independency as he grows, and he is beginning to make decisions for himself. I asked him if he wants us to throw a birthday party for him, he replied: “I don’t want. I just want Daddy, Mummy and Didi to celebrate for me…just the four of us can already.” Ok, so it shall be a private celebration for us this weekend. :)
I notice there's a streak of stubbornness in him (takes after me), and he can be quite rebellious at times. Sometimes it’s really a pain reasoning with him. I do lose my cool and spank him on a few occasions, but I always make it a point to apologize and explain to him why I reacted that way. I am constantly reminding myself that PATIENCE is the key word in disciplining a 5-year-old pre-schooler.
This elder brother likes to disturb Didi by ‘manipulate’ him like a puppet. Initially, Darius would ‘entertain’ Damien by flashing his toothless grin as the gor gor sang silly songs and move his hands up and down…however he does gets very bored after awhile, and this helpless baby would turned to me with a frown as if questioning: “When is this going to stop? Can you do something about it?”
Darius is still the happy-go-lucky boy who spends his day savoring mummy’s milk, sleeping, and playing! Isn’t it great being a baby?! But, perhaps he felt bored too, thus recently he’s trying some new stunts – stuffing both hands into his mouth (it used to be just one hand). At four months, he can flip from back to stomach but still struggling with flipping from stomach to back. Will update more on him in a separate post.
I am working 3 days a week until the end of this month, after which i'll be a full time house wife officially! Am sort of having mixed feelings - happy that i can finally 'retired' from the work force, haha, but at the same time worried about if I would be able to cope. ;)

this is a beautiful pic!
Both boys look so handsome here! Poor Darius. Must have been quite a torture to be manipulated by the gorgor. But at least they're getting along.
Hope Darius is getting better. And it's really great to be a baby.
I had that same feeling when I stopped work to become a SAHM. But after a while, you'll become very comfortable with the routine... and end up being a "huang lian po".
Don't worry, you'll manage just like any mothers who had done it before you. In fact, you may do even better than some of us. :)
I like your description of "jumping up and there" and helpless baby turning to you with a frown. That's how my boy would react to the baby, and Ihad to go to her rescue....
Such a nice photo of the 2 of them..
Darius is such a good boy.. My Zaria now is no longer happy go lucky liao. Still an easy child, but knows how to demand for things liao.
Btw, Damien so kwai ler. His birthday celebration only wants to spend with family. Such a thoughtful boy.
Btw, good luck huh.. with being SAHM.
Damien is a very homely boy hor... :D
Love the picture..! bummer about Darius's fever..! speedy recovery.. ! And yes.. i cannot say enough.. how fast they grow.. :) It's amazing that we are able to bring them up . isn't it.. ?? miracle.. i'll have to say. I'm not a SAHM .. but it sure feels like it sometimes.. after chloe was born. No regrets though.. but yes.. you'll get into a routine.. plus you will be way better than i.. because i still need to go into the store.. to help out.. whenever needed.
You'll be ok.. g/f..!
i had the same..wait I'm still having the same problem with the older kid..sigh...how ah? now the little can retaliate back by whacking kor kor somemore! but for the part of Damian requesting to spend time with u guys for his bday is soooo the sweet..my son plans for his bday almost immediately after his bday!
Hope Darius has recovered by now...
Damien is sooo sweet... I told LZ that no party for their bdays and they were so upset.. So unlike Damien.
I am constantly reminding myself that too :) Be patient with them...
D & D are getting along so well :)
darius is such a cutie!
and the big gor-gor is turning 5 already??? so fast!
Hi! I've tumbled onto your site from a new reader on mine. Thought of being a lurker but realised how I hated it on my blog so just to let u know I'm reading.. *am not a wierd dangerous stranger btw* (Safe for children, hahhaha sometimes)
I'd like to bookmark you for a while for some reading.. :) Happy Parenting! Keep Sane!
Glad that all are well now.. lately there is a virus going around which the doctors at KKH also do not know what it is. Quite a number of children have very high fever 39-40 deg cel.and needed to be admitted to hosp. Take care ya.
That's a great picture! Two of them smiling together. About being a SAHM, you will get used to staying at home and perhaps enjoy it more espy when you have two cuties to keep you company.
aiyooo Darius is sooooo cute!!! nice pic.
i dun think i dare to take your leap into SAHM!
lovely photos....i am having the same problem with Rayner...touching 5 seems to bring on rather negative changes in them.....still trying hard to see how I can handle his tantrums!
why we fear most is after one kid recovers, the other catches the bug and fall ill too...haiz...take care ya
don't worry about being a full time SAHM....there will be times (many times infact) where you will lose your cool and head but after that, you will be cool again, just like a rubber band, we are always stretched to the max and we do snap but after that, we are a loose loose rubber band and everything's fine....
